PHILOSOPHY & GOALS
The King David School of Scottsdale offers a comprehensive, challenging curriculum in secular and Judaic studies, presented in an academically nurturing environment in which students learn to think critically and to develop a life-long passion for learning.
Children from myriad religious and cultural backgrounds come together at The King David School and learn from their teachers as well as each other. Learning takes place independently as well as cooperatively. Talented and supportive teachers work to accommodate varied learning styles in an educational setting where concrete experience fosters abstract thinking. Enrichment opportunities are provided through a flexible curriculum that allows each child to capitalize on his/her strengths.
Teaching multiple perspectives, exposing students to primary source materials, and establishing content literacy are key in all disciplines. Sustained learning opportunities and spiraled learning built upon what students already know promote depth as well as breadth in the curriculum.
The partnership between parents and teachers is a critical component of the King David School experience. Educational workshops for parents enhance their participation in the children’s class milestone events, while community building programs strengthen the cohesiveness of the extended King David School family.
The King David School’s success began in 1987 and continues to be demonstrated year after year. Our students–and graduates–consistently achieve to the highest standards. They continue their studies at rigorous private and public high schools and matriculate at the nation’s best colleges and universities. They have the confidence and skills to be knowledgeable and successful 21st century citizens, while they proudly embrace and continue the values of our Jewish tradition.
